I Want A Fashion Blog! Round Up

iwafb workshop 2014

So 3 weeks ago, Andrea and I hosted Singapore’s first ever fashion blogging and fashion photography workshop, it is was an incredible success and experience, thanks to everyone who participated, helped out and partnered with us for this event.

Be warned: This post is image and text-heavy. I won’t be posting all the photos our photographer, Jonathan Liu took, but we will probably be arranging to post some group shots on our official website if anyone’s keen! First, let’s take a look at this amazing video compiled by our videographer, Rainer Chia of what went on during the workshop!

Ending the afternoon session with Q&A. This is us promoting Camera Rental Centre’s services and exclusive voucher to 10 brave souls who asked us questions. Thank you for all your interesting questions! :)

We didn’t have much photo taking after the end of this session but I’m sure you’ve had enough of my face from the photos above… Now let’s take a look at the rest of the team shall we?

[heading subtitle=”SPECIAL THANKS TO…”][/heading]

Our Official Program Partner: *SCAPE

iwafb workshop 2014

Thank you *SCAPE being so supportive of our workshop; and for providing this beautiful space (The TreeTop) with lots of natural light, just the way Andrea and I love it! This was taken early at 7.30am when we were busy setting up. Shout out to Maurice for taking care of all our AV needs that day! :)

Our Official Make Up: Benefit Cosmetics

iwafb workshop 2014

We had a section where Benefit’s esteemed make up artist, Charles, came on for 15 minutes to talk about suitable make up under natural light photography/outdoor shoots, and he also gave a demo on our model, Christabel. Benefit also kindly gifted all our participants with a pretty umbrella and some make up/skincare samples! Remember to go for Benefit’s big easy if you want to mattify your face as we spoke on during the workshop!

Our F&B Partner: Kreme Couture Bakery

Us with Chris and Angeline in our succulent pose (*inside joke*). Thank you for the mouthwatering desserts and savouries, which I’m sure everyone enjoyed! I love the red velvet cupcakes that they prepared (but that was the only thing I tried given the busy day, I’m sure everything else was equally good!). If you’re in search of not only pretty but delicious cupcakes, please approach Kreme Couture Bakery – have a look at their floral cupcakes, they’re truly one of a kind! :)

Our Event Decoration, Event Tiffany Chairs, and Goodie Bag Partners/Sponsors:
Give Fun, The Pixie Box, Camera Rental Centre & Aide De Camp

iwafb workshop 2014

We had the pleasure of having Give Fun and The Pixie Box on board our list of partners, who were responsible for the beautiful set up, with Give Fun decorating the space with their foil balloons and pompoms on the pillars, as well as our reception table! They also covered our event on their blog, and you can read it here. The Pixie Box provided us with their signature Tiffany Chairs – something I’ve always secretly coveted. And so, put all these lovely elements together and we have a really instagram-worthy venue! ;)

Also, big thank you to Camera Rental Centre for providing this little booklet where you get a Photography Cheat Sheet (which I touched on in the workshop), especially useful for those starting out on photography! Also, for their generous exclusive vouchers which we gave out to only 10 people during each Q&A session. I’ve given suggestions on the type of kit you may want to have for the type of photography that I do; so if you don’t already own the equipment, head down to Camera Rental Centre to rent yours now! :)

All particpants also went home with vouchers from Aide De Camp, a camera bag that Andrea and I are both carrying for our daily and photography needs. It’s so big and spacious, and the model we got (Valencia) is perfect for traveling! Look out for a bag review coming up on the blog in the next month!

Our Outfit Sponsor: Alescere

iwafb workshop 2014

The (four) different outfits you see on Drea and I for both the morning and afternoon sessions are by Alescere, and you can find their boutique at *SCAPE #02-26. They update their Instagram account regularly so do give them a follow. All participants also walked away with vouchers from Alescere – remember to spend them by the end of this month!

Our Guest Speakers: Kenny from Vibes Communications & Don from Faburikku

iwafb workshop 2014

Thank you Kenny and Don for taking time out to share your knowledge and expertise on PR and social media marketing during our workshop! Don talked about how social media has helped his business and Kenny spoke on what Public Relations companies are looking for in the new age online influencers. Andrea and I benefitted from your talk and I’m sure the rest of our participants did too!

Last but not least… Our formidable crew members!

iwafb workshop 2014

Nerissa, Christabel, Charlotte, Jonathan, Rainer, Imran and papa Chong! Thanks for your hard work, setting up/clearing up, eating the food (ha ha ha) and for the laughter and friendship! Not forgetting Yoko, who did up our official website – get in touch with her if you’re planning on setting up a new blog, or just redesigning your site! And also Wilson, for your support as well as being the man behind the camera for our collaterals. :)

Without all of you, IWAFB 2014 would never have been possible, so THANK YOU! <3 If you have any feedback regarding the workshop, or if you're keen on us either hosting other workshops, or re-hosting IWAFB, please let us know at iwantafashionblog@gmail.com! xx P/S: We loved seeing your photos of the workshop on Instagram, thank you for hashtagging #IWAFB! If you're still intending on posting any, please remember our official hashtag, #IWAFB! :)
